Free summer internship at HALO Trust for NAU students
The National Aviation University in cooperation with the leading mine action operator HALO Trust offers students a unique opportunity to complete a free summer internship at the organization's Ukrainian office. Through this initiative, six selected students, including five engineers and one translator, will have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in the field of mine action and data analysis.
During the summer internship, which will last from July 1 to August 31, the interns will work on a number of important tasks. In particular, they will be involved in analyzing satellite and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery to identify dangerous objects. In addition, the interns will process data from a variety of sensors, such as optical (EO), infrared (IR), multispectral (MS), LIDAR, and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems.
One of the key areas of activity of the interns will be the analysis of electro-optical images using ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) methods. This work will be essential for ensuring effective mine action and improving security in the regions where demining is underway.
In addition, the interns will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of projects and terms of reference, systems development, testing, and updating documentation on demining operational procedures. These activities will allow them to deepen their knowledge and skills in project management and documentation.
The selection of candidates for the internship started on April 22 and will last until May 28. The list and description of vacancies, as well as the application form are available here.
The internship will take place at HALO Trust in Brovary. Interns will work full time. There will also be opportunities for travel and business trips to other regions of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the internship as an image analyst is available not only in Brovary, but also in Kharkiv or Mykolaiv.
This initiative is a great opportunity for NAU students to gain practical experience, develop their professional skills and make a significant contribution to demining in Ukraine. The university management and HALO Trust hope that the internship will become a valuable step in the career development of young professionals and help them realize their potential in the important field of mines action.
