Creation of the English project takes precedence in the rich experience of the University in teaching of foreign students and participation in the international research projects. During 70 years of its existence the University has trained tens of thousands of specialists for 126 countries and continues to provide training in various specialties for promising areas. One of the priorities of the University is the integration into the international research and education sphere. Jointly with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine, the University introduces new information technologies and means of communication into education and research activities. The University teaching staff and students carry out a wide range of research with technical universities of Great Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, France, South Korea and other countries. NAU successfully collaborates with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Two ICAO Endorsed European Subregional Training Centres have been opened at the University. Both Centres are operating on TRAINAIR Methodology, using ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices. To internationalize education, training in English for Bachelor and Master degrees in prestigious fields and specialties has been carried out at the National Aviation University since 1999. The first graduations of the students of the 6 specialties at the Baccalaureate level have taken place already. Now these young Bachelors are continuing their education in English to gain the Master Degree. Today 564 students are taking education in English. Among them there are students from Ukraine, China, Ethiopia, Egypt, France, India, Iran, Lebanon, Mauritius, Moldova, Uganda, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Students are taught all subjects in English by highly professional lecturers who have completed special training courses in English and received the Certificates. Total amount of these lecturers is equal now 170. Among them there are Professors and Associate Professors, most of whom have got experience of working abroad. The University lecturers involved in teaching in English are members of different international scientific and engineering institutions and bodies such as IEEE (Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers), SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and others. The stock of English language literature in scientific and technical library of the University is continuously increasing. The University lecturers have issued more than 200 manuals and textbooks in English. Students of English groups actively participate in international scientific and technical conferences and seminars. The scientific supervisor of this project now is Prof. A.Tunik and the project manager is Associate Prof. V.Pershakov. The big group of the faculty managers organizes the administration of the project at the faculty level, provides the international relations and the methodical support of the teaching process.
