University leadership

The National Aviation University is a powerful aviation higher educational institution, that is well-known not only in Ukraine, but also far abroad. Thousands of its scientists and lecturers, hundred thousands of graduates have made a considerable contribution to the development of national and world science, techniques and industry; they became the active creators of scientific and technical progress.

During the years of its existence, over 150 thousand Specialists and Masters have been trained at the National Aviation University, and today they are the visit-card of the National Aviation University in all regions of Ukraine, CIS, and foreign countries

Today the pride of the National Aviation University is its graduates: statesmen, well-known scientists, Heads of production enterprises, lecturers.

A unique aviation base, composed of the educational air field, unique aviation hangar, radio-ground and that for ground-based aero-equipment, trainers and aerodynamic complex, with a unique wind-channel (which is fixed in the State Register of Scientific Objects of National Property), is created at the University.

Considerable concentration and integration of scientific, pedagogic, methodological, material and technical resources enable to carry out a purposeful policy in the sphere of highly skilled specialists training, realization of scientific research and developments at the University, and also to realize perspective plans and programs, reacting in time to the growing society needs.

Rector Kulyk Mykola Sergiyovich

 

01Professor Mykola Kulyk was appointed the Rector of the National Aviation University in 2008. He was previously the Vice-Rector (1999 - 2007) and executing the duties of the University Rector since 2007 till 2008.

Professor Kulyk graduated in 1970 from the Kyiv Civil Aviation Engineers Institute. He began his academic career as a scientist at the Scientific-Research Department of the Institute, gradually advancing from the junior to the chief Specialist. In 1993 Professor Kulyk defended the Doctors thesis and received his Doctors degree of Science (Engineering). He had worked as the Head of Aircraft Engines Department before being appointed the Vice-rector in 1999.

An insistent researcher, Professor Kulyk has crossed many disciplinary boundaries, most notably working in the area of the automatic systems for aircraft engines technical condition monitoring. He is the Head of the Specialized Scientific Council for bestowing the Doctors and Candidates Degrees (Engineering) in the fields of Aircraft Aerodynamics, Gas Dynamics, Engines and Power Plants.

Professor Kulyk was awarded with numerous orders, medals and honorary titles of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, South Korea and Russian Federation. An Honored Figure of Science and Engineering of Ukraine, Winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the area of science and technology, Mykola Kulyk successfully combines Rectors duties and scientific researches. Over 200 research papers, monographs and textbooks have been written by him and published in Ukraine and abroad, the member of the editorial board of the AVIATION journal (www.aviation.vgtu.lt).
